Bethesda, Maryland 09/05/2007

It's been a year. Mom and I went to see an amazing specialist in Bethesda, Maryland to get some insight about communicating with children with special needs. His name was Stanley Greenspan. As we came to find out, he was very unique, insightful and kind of weird. The day that we went to see him in his plantation like house/office he stepped into the room with his pajamas and toast I think it was as he watched us interact and play with Jordan. He gave us great advice, insight and some great tools to use.

I often think about that day....but more about the culture, the crisp cool air, and the time I spent with my beautiful boy and mom. We strolled the city streets, rode the subway train like experts, took a tour of Washington, D.C., slept in a great hotel, got hooked on "Chipotle" food, laughed, shopped and made memories that will last forever. I couldn't have done it without you mom.

What a cute video of Jordan sucking away on that binky! And if that cab driver really knew Mom, he would know that is her standard disinterested "Hmmm."

I took at trip over there last year, too! I love it over there! I'm so glad you had some away time with your mom and especially over there!

Hi Heather!
I'm so glad you found my blog so I could find yours! Thanks for the warning call the other day.
I remember being so excited for you to go to DC. This time of year is beautiful there. Chipotle - they have huge burritos! Was that taxi driver speaking English? The only words I understood were "Kmart" and "Walmart."

Heather, I always do a double-take when I see pictures of you... I think we look a lot alike. (I hope that doesn't offend you - don't worry, you're WAY better looking!)

Jordan is so cute too! I love his two little teeth in that picture of you and him.

Anyway, I'm so glad you have a blog. We need to come down to Yuma soon to visit!

Love, Leah
